DOACH is the Swiss National Capacity Centre within the European Diamond Capacity Hub (EDCH).
DOACH is run by the Swiss institutional publishing services providers’ community of practice – a long-standing working group comprising of all Swiss Universities that provide Institutional publishing services: Universities of Basel, Bern, Fribourg (with other members of the SOAP2 platform), Geneva and Zurich.
DOACH was established in 2025 as a project to create the DOACH website. The project was co-funded by swissuniversities and ran from August 2025 to July 2026. The website was launched in August 2026.
Our Goal
Our goal is to establish the Diamond Open Access (OA) model because it is open, fair, science-centred and affordable. This goal aligns with Objective 5 of the Swiss National Open Access Strategy which calls for a robust Diamond OA ecosystem as publishing alternative for authors.
That is why we provide Diamond OA stakeholders with information and support on: infrastructure, best practices, funding and assistance.
- Editors: Operate, finance and publish a quality Diamond OA journal.
- Researchers: Find relevant Diamond OA journals and book publishers for submission and publication and support Diamond OA editors and authors with your peer reviews.
- Platform providers: Create the best conditions for editors and researchers.
- Societies: Strengthen and uphold Diamond OA publishing.
- Funders and Libraries: Fund Diamond OA journals and initiatives.
